ATL is the union for education professionals across the UK. Active in the maintained, independent and post-16 sectors, we use our members’ experiences to influence education policy, and we work with government and employers to secure fair pay and working conditions. From early years to HE, teachers to support staff, lecturers to leaders, we support and represent our members throughout their career.
Goodies are a new points system to say thanks for contributing and sharing at ICT Goodies. You get Goodies for uploading resources, and you even get Goodies for simply commenting on other peoples' resources.
So what can you do with Goodies? Well, we have recently added some premium content to the site and the catalog of premium resources will continue to grow. You can either purchase these premium resources for a nominal charge (between 50p and £1.00) or you can spend your Goodies! So, the more you share, you more you are rewarded.

This is a revision board game designed to help students revise for the GCSE ICT Paper 1 exam. It covers topics including input and output devices, hardware and software, networks, implications of ICT on banking and retail and more.
When I used this game, I got students to make little player pieces or counters out of cardboard. They also used the digital dice at http://www.ictgoodies.com/miscellaneous/digital-dice
I printed the board game and then had it blown up / enlarged to A3 to make it easier to read and play.
A fun starter activity that gets students out of their seats. Each student is given a piece of paper with either a word or a definition on it. Students must move around the room to find the person with the asociated word or definiton.

After giving students an introduction to spreadsheets and creating charts, you could get them to present this data in the form of a magazine and write an accompanying article that analyses the chart. This is a template / example magazine layout. Let your students change this one or just use it as an example.

A fun slide to have on the board while holding a thumb-o-metre session
What is Thum-o-metre?
Using a thumb-o-metre is a great AfL technique. The teacher asks students how they feel about a topic e.g. how confident do you feel using the SUM function in excel. Student indicate with thumbs up, down or level. This gives the teacher a really quick overview of how well the whole class understand the topic.

Here is the makings of a fun spreadsheet model to learn about conditional formatting and formulas. It needs tailoring to your own requirements but the majority of the work is done.
*Updated* - A guide sheet is now included. This isn't really explicit; instead students should try to figure things out for themselves using the 'Help' feature and Google. Students could try to produce their own stadium working in small groups.
